Post subject: Adeventures In Pugging (post 3.3) Posted: Thu Dec 24, 2009 11:54 am |

A thread I wanted to start since 3.3 came out, where we share our pugging stories.
I'll start with a few examples that I've had while leveling Shampayne.
Today, in a DK group, we had a DK tank (Wallance from Echo Isles) that was wearing Int, Spirit, and spellpower gear! The warelock's Imp was on aggressive and aggroing everyone in sight. And the druid tree was trying to dps and not heal.
Yesterday, in a OK group we ahd a hunter show up with no ammo at all. Come on!
My 1st UK with Shampayne, we had a rogue wearing Winter Clothes on chest, and he had Brilliant Wizard Oil on his daggers.
Ok, you get the idea..... So share your stories here.

Today I was in a regular Gundrak group. We had a Warlock named Mortelok from Karistrasz who didn't have a pet.
When I questioned him he said, "no need if tank knows what he knows what he's doing."
Another person, "oh, so you don't care about your dps?"
And I said, "at least you could have a felhunter out for the mana people." Which would have benefited himself, as well as the pally and my shaman.
When we jumped down in water, he left pet in water getting killed by frenzies. He didn't heal it or put it on passive to return to him. Nor did he revive it.
Having several warlocks, I found this to be one of the stupidest things I've seen or heard in awhile. Obviously a person who can't group well.

Post subject: poor tanks (party leaders) and the rat race? Posted: Sat Jan 02, 2010 5:14 am |

This is something that's been bugging me for some time.
Poor tanks/Part Leaders, who are obviously suicidal and think that all dungeon runs are some kind of timed event.
They rush off in a mad dash, leaving everyone else behind, without a ready check. In the meantime the healer is still changing specs, and/or has no mana. Boom, first group of trash mobs you got a group wipe.
Almost always happens at start of OK. Tank who has 45k HP totalkly ignores mobs and runs by, and the straggling party members aggro them. Boom, group wipe and the dumb tank is going wtf?
Another example was this morning. Occ still has a stigma to it, despite 3.3 changes. So almost every time it comes up on random people immediatley drop. This morning, as soon as we zoned in 1 dropped. Yet tank rushed off and attacked 1st group. At that point another had droipped. Than tank paniced and ran back to us other 2 who werent ready and wiped us all.
Several times in past week, twice in OK at same spot, we've had a man down and healer was rezzing. Tank ran off ahead, helter skelter, without waiting for the group to be ready. Boom, group wipe.
Part of being a tank is being a good group leader and paying attention to what's going on in whole group. If you can't do that, no one could care less how much HP you have, etc.

I try to ignore these people as much as possible.
But sometimes it's had to. Especially when it affects a a whole group. If you got 2 or more people bickering in chat during the whole run about dps, gear, etc. it's hurting the whole group. Because if they are busy typing, they aren't paying attention to what's going on.
Another thing is the ones who just try to harass everyone else, "you should do this and that" etc.
It's fine if it is done a friendly and helpful way. And if the know what they are talking about.
Example:
My first UK run on my shaman, I was level 68 or 69. And one jerk kept talking nonsense about my gear and dps.
But than, he started saying that i needed to improve my rotation and learn how to use "lava burst." He even even claimed to have a "bad-ass" 80 shaman.
That's all fine and well, but a shaman can't learn lava burst until level 75.
Doh! The elitist jerk didn't even know what he was talking about.
